Cutting with a really big sword at Valley of the Sun

Today we just want to say thank you to Phil Martin, Brittany St. Leafy, and everyone who made the Valley of the Sun Cutting Competition so much fun.

Brittany St. Leafy with a really big Two Hander Custom from Arms and Armor
This custom two hander is almost 67" in total length with a 47" blade, weighing just over 5.5lbs.  It is a beast, but it moves beautifully and cuts great.  That particular sword ended up being purchased by SoCal swords.

Above is a similar sword of the same proportions we made in the past.
You can check out a video of Phil cutting with the same sword here (stupid YouTube shorts are hard to embed...): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/jNpi2lec8lg
It was fantastic seeing our old friend Gus Trim, Chris Sterling and Josh Von War Bear from Sterling Armory, and meeting a whole bunch of new sword friends.  This tournament was so friendly and well run, and the performance level was higher than I have ever seen.  You should go to it next year!

As always, our swords are entirely made by us at our shop in Minneapolis, MN out of 6150 carbon steel, hardened and tempered to 50-52 Rockwell. Our swords are made to look, feel, and function just like the historical originals on which they are based. Check out our full selection here: https://www.arms-n-armor.com
