Based on swords of the later 15th Century in Southern Europe

This 15th century period longsword features a bold scallop shell detail on the face of a simple wheel pommel. The outer edge of the pommel is slightly concave as is seen on many medieval pommels. The straight steel guard is tapered towards the ends. The grip is covered in brown leather with a stitched seam and was a strongly waisted shape.
The blade is a type XV blade that tapers to a stout point. This form of long sword is depicted in Fiore's manual of the period.
