Hewing Spear

Large lugged spears of this form may well be what the Nordic cultures described as hewing spears in some of the sagas. The large head would be a fearsome hand to hand weapon and was probably not intended for throwing. Mounted on a sturdy haft this would be a intimidating encounter on the battlefield.
This piece was custom made to the specs of the customer. The overall length is approximately 2 feet. The head is mounte don an ash haft.
