A large mid 15th century longsword with a type U pommel. These thin lozenge shaped pommels are popular across northern Europe in the last three decades of the 1400's. The guard is a classic style 11 guard with a grove at the center point and slightly swelling arms that gently curve towards the point. The blade is a long XVIIIb or c, the long taper being indicative of the b though the blade has a diamond cross section. It would be very effective in the thrust but this sword would be an excellent cutting sword.
