The conflicts of the 15th century saw the longsword rise to prominence in the hands of knights fighting on foot. These swords combined speed, reach and power over single handed swords and were featured in the fighting arts of that period.
The blade is a type XVIII that curves to a lethal tip. This style of long sword would have been popular in the 15th century. Conflicts like the War of the Roses and the Burgundian Wars would have seen swords of this form.
